Personal Note
I have one son who currently lives in Baton Rouge. He enjoys soccer and is very involved in high school activities. I enjoy lecturing in inflammatory bowel disease, and I serve on several IBD advisory boards. I enjoy wildlife photography, hunting, fishing and gardening.
Education and Training
A 1977 graduate of Memphis State University now the University of Memphis, Dr. Sloas graduated medical school at the University of Tennessee Health Science Center in Memphis. He also interned and completed his residency there, becoming chief resident, and in 1985 he began a fellowship in gastroenterology at the University of Alabama at Birmingham.
After his fellowship, he returned to Memphis in 1987 and began practicing at the Digestive Disease Consultants. Nine years later, he co-founded Gastroenterology Center of the MidSouth, now Gastro One.
He was certified in internal medicine in 1984 by the American Board of Internal Medicine and in gastroenterology in 1987.
