Education and Training

 

Dr. Farooq is a native Memphian who completed a Bachelor of Arts degree in biochemistry at Kenyon College in 1996.  He graduated from the University of Tennessee College of Medicine in Memphis in 2000, and he then completed an internal medicine residency, gastroenterology fellowship, and an advanced therapeutic endoscopy fellowship at University Hospitals Case Medical Center in Cleveland, Ohio, finishing his studies there in 2007. 

 

After completion of training, Dr. Farooq served as assistant professor of medicine in the gastroenterology division at U.T. Health Science Center before joining Gastro One in 2010.

 

Dr. Farooq was certified in Internal Medicine in 2003 and in Gastroenterology in 2007
